Meliovation™ was founded in 2002 in the metro area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.  Its founder Scott Petoff, has been involved in the creation of multimedia software for PC users for over a dozen years. Award winning and best selling software titles for consumers that have previously been developed by Scott include Sierra™ CompleteHome^®, Sierra™ Complete LandDesigner^®, Popular Mechanics™ Car Guide, and The Ortho™ Gardener's Problem Solver.  In addition, Scott has lead the development of software systems for audio e-book devices and programmed applications for the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and legal industries.  With his diverse experience, Scott is leading the effort to build the next generation of consumer productivity software that merges the power of Windows® with the limitless potential of the Web.

Where does the name Meliovation™ come from?

The chosen name for the company represents two themes that showcase the philosophy of the organization.  The root "melio" comes from the Latin term "meliora" which is defined as "always better", and forms the basis for such words as ameliorate.  The second half, "vation", is the suffix of the word "innovation" or "the introduction of something new."  So, put together, "Meliovation" comes to mean "striving for improvement (betterment) through (technical) innovation."  We think it sums up the company and our product line quite well.  We hope you agree.
